If you thought Yoga is all about bending and twisting the body in strange ways, now is the time to rethink. Yoga is much more. In very simple words, paying attention to the body, mind and breath, that is yoga. This means that this ancient practice includes: yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation. Through them, the body, mind and breath experience the union in harmony, and that moment is Yoga. Yoga brings the mind to the present moment, improving your clarity and alertness. Thus, the mind is pacified and can cope with daily stress.
Yoga is an ancient system of healing. So yes, I believe it can heal you if you are kind in the practice journey. And it is for you, no matter your age, gender or body shape.
My approach to Yoga is also through my mindfulness daily practice.
For me, Yoga and meditation are two practices, that allow me to reconnect my mind and body. As such, and with compassion and kindness, I am able to discover every day new things about myself. By cultivating this self-compassion, I am able to let flow this kindness and compassion also to others.
Yoga and Mindfulness teach me in my everyday life and keep me fit and really connected.
